Web applications

A web application is any sort of application that is accessed over the Internet (or an intranet).
Acrux Software has good expertise in building business web applications for public or private use.

These applications have many advantages over desktop applications:

• no installation or updates are ever required on users' computers
• the application is available just about everywhere; the only requirement being an internet connection and web browser
• it can be used by many users simultaneously
• generally, no license fees are applicable (exceptions may apply for additional modules)
• it can be deployed publicly, privately, or as a combination of the two

The technology we use for this is known as LAMP:

• PHP scripting language

These are all open source technologies, and are freely available, extensively used and tested, and are regularly updated.
